The Carp-in-4-Cancer 2009 was held at Field Aston Res, Shropshire with 12 teams. Winners were
Lee Reeve and Andy Dennis
CRASH!!!! yes the country did and we were staring a huge recession in the face,
but we weren't going to be beat, so we just kept it small, keep the contest
going and the name on the map, keep it more like a social this year so off we
went to a private syndicate in Shropshire, Field Aston Reserviore saw only 12
teams of 2 but as per the last years the anglers did us proud again, the pool
even managed to throw up a 30lb fish for the contest to the Posh Lads team Andy
Lobel and Adam Greenslade, who placed 2nd, out fished by the winners Lee and
Andy who plodded on steadily catching small fish but adding to their combined
weight, in the end there was only a couple of pound in the results but again the
charity had a result with the total raised again at nearly £2000 we couldn't
have asked for more from the lads who attended with money tight and everyone
watching the bank balance .
All in all with a total of just over £11,000 we just can't stop there so we're
now looking forward to 2010, Brasenose 2, Oxford...BRING IT ON!!!!!! see you all
